Boat Launch Trailer Latch Catch Launch Retrieve for Alloy & Fibreglass Boats
Want to launch or retrieve your boat in under 30 seconds. Suits Alloy and Fibreglass boats, suitable for boats up to 7 metres. Will suit most drive on type trailers.
Catch Ring suits winch posts with 100mm / 4 inch and 75mm / 3inch gap between winch bow roller on the winch post. WE SUPPLY THE STANDARD SIZE OF 100MM / 4 INCH TO FIT THE GAP BETWEEN WINCH BOW ROLLER ON YOUR WINCH POST. Not suitable for non drive on type trailers. Boat Launch And Retrieve System are only to be used to secure your boat whist trailer is in the water for launching and retrieving purposes and should never be used for securing boat to trailer while it is being towed or moving in or out of a boat ramp or while traveling on any road. This is not a positive lock system. This boat launch and retrieve system is suitable for fibreglass or similar boats. Plate Boats not a problem. Suits Alloy Fibreglass boats, suitable for boats up to 7 metres. Example snare hook design is based on.Quintrex, Stacer, Brooker, Stessel, Stabcraft, bow type boat snare. (Fibreglass version) 1 x Launch and Retrieve Catch Ring with replacement 10mm Bow Eye Hook fits 35mm to 60mm. 1 x Launch and Retrieve Catch Ring with bolt on Hook. 1x M12X150mm stainless steel mounting bolt. 1x M12 stainless steel spring washer.
1x M12 stainless steel nut. 1x M10 Adjuster height bolt.Install Fibreglass Catch Hook (On Boat). Remove your current Bow Eyelet on the front of the boat.
Replace it with the new Bow Eyelet Hook, Note some replacements may require you to redrill the holes bigger, the new bolt on hook is 10mm size bolts. Install Alloy Catch Hook (On Boat). Position and mount Catch Hook towards the bottom ot the boat snare but flush up against boat snare and put a mark with a pencil through the predrilled holes in the Catch Hook to drill a mounting hole into the boats snare. Two M6 stainless steel short bolt is have been supplied to be used.
Install Catch Ring (On trailer). The catch ring is installed in the gap below where your top stop roller is located on your winch post. You will be required to drill two 12mm holes one on both sides for the 12mm pivot bolt to go through. Try and mount the catch ring as high.But inline with the catch hook but not to interfere with the operation of the trailer winch rope attached to the boat. Installation adjustment on the trailer. Attach a bungee cord to the catch bar in the retrieve position, or at the rear of the catch ring. Disconnect the safe chain off the boats snare or eyelet and leave the winch strap attached to the boat.
Move the boat on the trailer with winding and unwinding the boat on the boat trailer and adjust catch ring with the stop adjuster bolt for the correct height for it to come into contact with the catch hook. You will require further adjustment at the boat ramp. Put your boat / trailer in the water but not to far where the boat is floating, the rear of boat must be in the water but the boat must be firmly resting on the trailer. Set the bungee cord to the rear of the catch ring on retrieve position, release your winch and chains and rest the boat hook on the catch ring and remove the bungee cord from the rear position after that.
The boat will rest on the catch ring and hold the boat while you enter the boat to get ready to move off the trailer. Power the boat forward a little and the catch ring will release and drop away from the hook letting the boat slide off the trailer etc. Put your boat trailer into the water far enough where the water is at the top of the mud guards to retrieve your boat and set the catch ring in the retrieve position.
To the rear of the catch ring. Now you are able to attach your winch or chain to secure the boat on the trailer to drive off the ramp.
