Classic 1950's era White Bear Water Skis, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Cabin Art

  

If your lakefront cabin is still without a pair of these on display, this might be the chance to correct things. Just down the road from where these skis are located on Bald Eagle Lake was the very home where White Bear Water skis were manufactured from the 30s until early 1960s.

These are getting harder and harder to find in original, unmolested condition. This pair has the classic sought-after patina. Faded red paint, aging decals, bare wood from use. Symbolize happier times on the water in the early days of lake sports. The white bindings are in decent shape for the age and are still relatively supple.

They have some yellowing from time. The aging and patina are very consistent between each ski-something hard to find with items this old where normally an odd ski binding or repair has been done on one of the skis.

These appear quite similar in condition to one another-please view pictures to judge for yourself. The ski edges show wear, gouges, splinters etc. As anything with this history might given the use. No signs of repaint or repair on these, making them more satisfying as display objects on your vaulted cabin ceiling or on the wall of a screen porch overlooking the water.

The skis measure roughly 57 inches long. They may not be suitable for re commissioning as working water skis, but that is your call.
